I've spent my life developing skills in various arts & crafts – photography, quiltmaking, graphic design, jewellery, painting. During a jewellery making class several years ago, I fell in love with beads – handmade lampwork beads made by British glass artists, Bohemian Czech glass beads, semi precious beads from around the world. The colour combinations & shapes still astound me.

Joining my village art group opened up a new avenue of experimenting & after years of attempting to 'loosen up' to create semi abstract, textured paintings, my work has naturally fallen into two distinct groups.

Playing with cut paper shapes & the way shadows move as the light changes, satisfies my natural tendency to create neat, precise patterns. I've yet to decide which works better, white on white or bright complementary colours. The process is still evolving.

My acrylic paintings are either on watercolour paper or board. Layers of tissue paper, PVA & acrylic paint applied with a palette knife create the textures I love.

The semi abstract land & seascapes are inspired by the west Wales coast where I live & the wild Eryri mountains of my childhood, where I continue to spend many hours hillwalking, bringing music to my soul.
